Losing Altitude

Is it strange that the plane i am tracking dropped about 10,000 feet. The flight I’m tracking left JFK and as it crossed the water it was at 33,000 ft then as it got to Connecticut , flight tracker showed the plane drop in altitude. The destination is Prague Czech Rep. I’m a nervous nelly, my wife is on the plane… thanks everyone

I wouldn’t worry. What’s the flight number?

Is she insured? Just kidding, if the feed is lost it will default to cruising altitude, then when the feed is re-established, it corrects to actual. No worries.

Flight 51… I just thought it was weird to drop altitude so early in the flight… Is a 10,000 ft something to be alarmed about? I keep looking at it then it goes back to 32k ft … maybe the software is defective?

It’s an FAA error.
