Like advice about a good handheld for emergency backup. Would like a moving map display. Also recommendations for a handheld comm.
Icom makes great radios, their IC-A24 has all the bells and whistles. vertex seems to be pretty good too, but haven’t played with one.
Sporty’s has a new one though, that has a** full ILS presentation** on it. That’s the kind of thing that could literally save your life. I will say that the Sporty’s radios are the simpliest to use, a good thing when it’s an item that you will probably be using in a stressful situation.

As for GPS, there are lots of nice ones out there, but you really need to get your hands on them and play around a bit to figure out which one is to your liking.
