Today I noticed this Bioflight for the first time. For me it is an interesting pattern.
Do they fly this more often?

I occasionally see similar flight activity in my area - probably some type of data acquisition or terrain mapping. Here is a link on what Bioflight does. I’d guess it was a survey of an off-shore wind farm.

I always enjoy using mapping software and an excuse to learn something new.
The location matches with the Gemini site listed below. Their official Gemini web site is very interesting, and does a great job of showing the construction and maintenance that goes in to a major engineering project like this.

I was too lazy to do what you did 
Just an educated guess based on that all the times I flew in/out of AMS over the North Sea and saw wind turbines stretch for as far as the eye can see.
