I’ve been slowly working on improving the reception of one of my stations in order to get the most out of it.

In the picture below you can see 3 stages:

  1. Standard radarbox dongle and stock antenna cut to 67mm (12/2 until 24/2)
  2. Replaced stock antenna with a Vinnant 6.5 dB antenna and added a Flightaware filter to the setup (24/2 until 10/03)
  3. Replaced the Radarbox dongle with a FlightAware Prostick Plus (10/03 until today).

As you can see each step brings additional posistions to the setup.On average it improves 50% with each step in number of positions.
During this time the location of the antenna stayed the same.

So if you ever wonder if changing parts of your setup can be improving here’s an example :wink:
