I have been using the online Flightaware for several years. I just got my first smartphone and in lots of cases the android phone and apps are smarter than I am. I used the app last week, the flights are still being tracked. How do I delete the search when I am done?

go back to where you turned them on and delete them
That wasn’t any help at all! If one is suppose to delete the search where it was created, HOW?
I sent an e-mail to FA asking how to delete the list of “recent” that appears over the main photo on the opening page. If I want to track the flight or stay in contact with the flight, I know how to search it each time. Please help remove the list of "recent’ from opening page.
Four years later and I (new 2019 user) still can’t see how to delete a search /landed flight . It seems possible to delete an “alert” - so perhaps one needs to attach an alert to any search and delete it - Not clear that would wipe out the history though .
To delete your search history, just erase all data from the app. Flightaware->App Info-> Storage-> Clear data
