how to change mac address in piaware / dump1090

short question - where can i set/change the mac-address transmitted to flightaware directly (e.g. piaware/dump1090) - instead of unwanted mac-address spoofing the whole raspi?

thanx
tom

The only (known to me) way other than spoofing it is to run the piaware-mutability code and set it in there.

perfect  - and where/how do i do this running mutability 1.15?

Tom, he mentioned PIAWARE-mutability but you are thinking of DUMP1090-mutability. piaware-mutability has not been updated recently and is probably not a good choice any more. See more here: https://github.com/mutability/piaware

Sorry, can’t help with the mac address.

aaah - i overlooked this - thanx again
so - the only way that remains is spoofing the pi ethernet address?

Why the need to spoof? If it’s for consideration of continuing a streak, I believe that has been changed to account for streaks per user not per location. (It was a recent change, I’ll have to see if I can find the original post that announced it…)

Edit: It was changed to have both a per user and a per location streak counter. http://discussions.flightaware.com/ads-b-flight-tracking-f21/improvements-to-streaks-system-on-stats-pages-t35829.html

thanx for looking into this thing dschaper  yes - i wanted to keep the site-number even when using another raspi. this is much easier with planefinder and their sharecodes but on the other hand i like the way flightaware does because it’s a no-brainer. but in special situations it would be good to override this behavior …
