The original had such a classic opening and glad they kept it similar.
The plane in the original version I believe is a UAL DC-8.
The new ones good, but you can’t beat the original, I remember that like it was yesterday. A lot of times I didn’t finish watching the show, but I was planted right in front of that TV for the opening 
DC-8 landing, hula-girl shaking it, Jack Lords hair ‘wave’. Classic!!
I’ve been watching the reruns on cable for the past month. Classic.

I think the A340 banking looks better for an ad for the airline. There’s just something too pretty and perfect about it at/near cruising altitude. I loved the very low DC-8 about ready for touchdown. Very gritty and fast paced.
