On my second site I have a question about gain setting. It’s currently running at 25.4 which gives me a 24hr average of 3.7% which is lower than I would like.
If I go up to the next setting of 28.0 it blasts my 24hr average of over 10% which is double the 5% as recommended.
Question is what would be the better setting to be at ??

Does the 28.0 setting improve your positions and aircraft count ?
The 5% is an advice and not set in stone. Check the numbers after 24 hrs and then decide. Sometimes even 10% strong messages can be ok depending on the location.
I use default gain setting adaptive on my all 4 Pis. The “Messages > -3dBFS” figure varies considerably (4.6%, 15.1% , 3.5% , 6.3%) as you can see from graphs I am posting below.

I will try the adaptive gain and see what happens.
Have to wonder what you have inline between your antenna and the system 25 or 28 db gain? Are you filtering the input or is it going through an LNA that drives up the raw antenna signal?
