Flying lessions

Yea…I mean…DUH!!!

Sorry I was thinkin about the wrong OSU.

Gorgeous campus. If the flight school is anything like most of Miami’s programs, then it’s top-notch. I’ve seen their (tiny) airport; doesn’t look like much though.
If you’re looking for good flight programs w/in OH, Ohio State and Kent State have excellent programs.
If you can afford out-of-state tuition, want one of the best around, and don’t want to go TOO far, apply to Purdue. Great program. Shitty athletics (in the opinion of this rabid Buckeye :smiling_imp: ).

…We ARE still talking about/to Boeing747, right?!?

Do we ever know who or what we are talking about/to???

Right - I’ve seen some pretty nasty lesions just from cycling accidents. But flying lesions are a particularly nasty breed - usually synonymous with bodily disfigurement (or even dimemberment). NTSB investigators usually see them before doctors do. Definitely not for the squeamish.

The Universtiy of Cincinnati also has a flight program. In state tuition is very affordable.

Ohio University also has an aviation program.

Do you need a college degree to be a telemarketer?

Nope, hers is the same as mine, BS in Aviation Science.

Not exactly, I got this job without a degree, and I could have gotten hired by Colgan, PSA, AirWisconsin, Pinnacle, Republic…etc without having a degree. If you want to go any farther though, i.e. the majors, you would definitely need a 4 year degree. That Lear pilot friend of mine doesnt have a single college credit to his name!

Well im going to college…

I should have been more clear. It is still very important to get a degree. I’m saying it does not always have to be done at a ‘traditional’ 4 year school, immediately after high school. I wasted an entire year, as well as a great deal of my parent’s money, “attending” the University of Massachusetts engineering program. I had an excellent time, but did not let classes and coursework get in the way of playing Half-Life, GranTourismo, and boozing. I thought I wanted to be an engineer, but it was not to be.
My point is in here somewhere. At 18, I had no clue what I realy wanted to “do”. There is a lot to be said about going to the local community college to get some of the general ed classes out of the way, while getting used to the college lifestyle. It is NOT high school, as many college freshman find out the hard way. With the local school, even if you F-off for a semester, youre only really out a thousand bucks or so. Also, you get some extra time to really figure out what you want to do with the next few years of your life.
See my previous posts for my opinions about ERAU and other pilot factories. (or dont, thats fine too!)
Best of luck

My dad didn’t know what he was going to do until college. My parents have pretty much made it clear that I’m going to college no matter what I say. Personally I want to go to college.

Ah yes…college…

The best 5 years I can’t remember!!!

Just remember, in the immortal words or Dean Wormer “Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.”
