Flightaware antenna dead after 3 months

After intermittent issues during damp weather I was able to confirm my setup was in fact my flightaware antenna I purchased in the beginning of July. It took some attention to find the correlation between the weather and the issues but after troubleshooting the pi, the dongle and cabling during these intermittent problems (for the last 2 months) I was finally able to catch it while I was home and had the chance to swap out antennas while it was not working. My homemade ground plane worked great. I reattached the FA antenna and no go. The problem is now, given the chance to dry out, the antenna is dead as a door nail. I gave it a day and just reattached with no success.

I have read about this problem on FB groups and this forum. That is the antenna retaining moisture. Can this be fixed?
I noticed my antenna was shipped during the same week of another user posted saying his had failed also (his was replaced). Was there a defect in production?
Can FA staff please let me know if there is a fix or can it be replaced?

FYI. This antenna was without any abuse or damage.

I have been chasing an intermittent problem for a week and after changing wifi adapters, power supplies, multiple SD card re-loads and changing settings I stumbled across this thread. We have been having rain on and off for the past week. My antenna was shipped in June.
Is there any way to fix the antenna? If it is water ingress, can I just seal it up better?

Edit: Ignore me - found the problem at a USB connection.
