Feeder Sites map times out

For the past while I’ve been having trouble loading the Feeder Sites map.

The request to /ajax/ignoreuser/adsb/sites_map.rvt often returns a 504 after 10 seconds:

By looking at the X-FA-Backend response header, the cidel, welbo, hntrr, and hetug backends appear to consistently time out.

The wlmor and zevax backends appear to consistently work, though requests do take almost 10 seconds and Varnish may start throwing 504 errors with them, too.

I get the same symptom. …spinning thing, then no map. The flags and the rest of the page appear, but no map, and no error message either. It’s been like this for many weeks. But it is not a page I regularly view.

I also have had the same issue but it worked just now from your link.

We released some performance improvements to the map earlier this week so you should be seeing an improvement on the sites map page now.
