Dump 1090 not running problem

Hello everybody,

I have used Piaware for a while with flightaware’s software directly inserted to the PI via a micro SD card. I have recently formated this SD card to install a new version of raspian via NOOBS. So I continued by installing Piaware and dump1090 as indicated here; https://fr.flightaware.com/adsb/piaware/install
For some odd reason my ADS-B setup doesn’t work as it did before, flightaware doesn’t receive any data from it anymore.
I checked piaware-status:

$ sudo piaware-status
dump1090 is not running.
faup1090 is not running.
piaware is running.
no program appears to be listening for connections on port 30005.
faup1090 is NOT connected to port 30005.
piaware is connected to FlightAware.
got ‘couldn’t open socket: connection refused’
maybe dump1090 is NOT producing data on port 30005.

And i checked lsusb too:

$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0bda:2838 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL2838 DVB-T
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 148f:7601 Ralink Technology, Corp.
Bus 001 Device 008: ID 17ef:602d Lenovo
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0424:ec00 Standard Microsystems Corp. SMSC9512/9514 Fast Ethernet Adapter
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0424:9514 Standard Microsystems Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

My antenna is “Realtek Semiconductor Corp. DVB-T”, so yeah… My Pi recognizes it.

How do I make Dump1090 work ? Thanks in advance for your help.

PS; I have applied a fix I found here: dump1090 not starting on boot [SOLVED] - ADS-B Flight Tracking - FlightAware Discussions
Sadly, it didn’t fix my problem.

and post what the dump1090 log has in it.

Checked it via the sudo nano /var/log/ command. The file is empty, not a single number or letter in it. :confused:

You could start from scratch and use a script to install everything very easily:
