If there are very very few passengers on a plane will they cancel for THAT reason? I can’t figure out if we should change our flights. I have looked at expert flyer at flight loads and percentages of reliability but there are none available. This flight is only available M,T,W and although it is not until February I have looked at seats from November-Feb. and only found 2 seats taken on all the flights combined other than our 4 seats. I also can’t figure out where to find if that plane is needed from PHL which would be awesome decreasing our likelihood of getting canceled. Sorry novice here to this type of inquiry. Thanks in advance. I realize we are VERY early but would like your thoughts.
I’ve been on several flights where I was the only passenger. Perhaps they were empty leg
positioning flights. IMO flights are not cancelled due to the equipment and crew are needed further along the route. Crews often change for each leg of a route due to the fact that they bid by seniority on the flights that they want for the upcoming month.
Schedules are fluid until closer to the departure date. Have you paid for a ticket or do you just have reservations? It makes a difference because a huge number of reservations never result in a purchased ticket especially in business class.
We paid for our tickets. Did not use miles etc.
What are your endpoints, flight number and departure date?
The flight number is 760 connects with 2433. Feb 11
The AA site does not show any cancellations for AA 760 since it began operations between ORD and DFW on April 4, 2024. That is a major route between hubs that is unlikely to ever be cancelled. Likewise AA 2433 has operated reliably since it began operations on April 4, 2024.
The route is MCI-PHL-SJU
OK, the issue I had was that AA 760 from MCI to PHL doesn’t start operations until October 27. Sorry for the bad info. The MCI - PHL route is on-time 81%. There is no on-time rating for the PHL - SJU leg though it has operated reliably. There is no data available regarding an aircraft’s origin just prior to your departure. It is simply too far into the future. Cancellations because of load factors are rare. You should keep your tickets and review the situation closer to your refund deadline and/or travel date.
I wish I could have been more helpful.
Thank you very much for your information!
