Denver Airport Closed

It was displayed as a departure in the middle of the closure. I think 06:30MST departure on Friday.

Denver did not open until about 12:00 MST

Maybe its call sign should have been “Guinnie Pig One”

Here is a pretty cool before and after picture of the Denver airport.

They’re saying DEN could get socked with “Round 2” of the Blizzardfest as soon as tomorrow.

When I was reading the Chicago Tribune, they mentioned that snow readings are still measured at Stapleton? Is that true or is it a mistake.

It’s got too be a mistake. Stapleton doesn’t exist. Due to the short sightedness of politicians, Stapleton was destroyed when Denver International opened. They are converting Stapleton into commercial or residential facilities.

If memory serves, the control tower is still standing amidst a flurry of construction. I guess it’s supposed to be a reminder of what it once was.

www.stapletondenver.com has maps of the proposed and in progress redevelopment.
rmci-usa.com/stapleton.htm These guys were the ones recycling the miles of concrete from the runways and taxiways and ramps… “the largest recycling project in the world” they say.
