The 6,000 foot runway at CHO probably not long enough for a heavy cross country flight so they bused to RIC and flew out of there.

I can’t find anything for Central Arkansas at Eastern Illinois. I’ve checked Champaign, Mattoon and all of the usuals. It seems too far to drive. Any guesses?
They possibly could have flown commercial from LIT to STL, then bused over to Charleston, and maybe will have a charter flight back. North Texas did something similar last year going to Alabama.
That’s a good point. Ohio State drove to Purdue last year, but flew back. I checked St. Louis and I didn’t see anything (both for Lambert and Mid-America), but there’s also Indy, Chicago, etc. I’ll be on the lookout for it. Thanks.
Does anyone know what Utah flies on?
They used both JetBlue and Frontier last season.
They will fly to ABQ next Friday, might have to wait and see.
For what it’s worth, BYU took Virgin America to Colorado Springs this weekend to play Air Force. They also used JetBlue and Frontier last year. Had to be possibly the first time I’ve seen Virgin America do a college football charter. Will be interesting to see what Utah does.
