I’m trying to track Civil Air Patrol flights that are filed IFR. If I file the CAP callsign, ie. CAP2436, it’s in the system but does not appear on FlightAware. However if I use the CPF contraction, CPF2436, it does show up and I’m able to track the flight. Is there any way to make the CAP flights show up as well? Salt Lake Center changed my callsign enroute this week because they said CPF wasn’t in the system, even though I’ve done numerous flights with that contraction. That doesn’t make sense if it’s showing up on flight trackers. I also looked in the latest greatest FAA contractions publication, 7340.2E and confirmed that both CAP and CPF are available for the Civil Air Patrol. Can the FlightAware team help me out?
