The FlightAware Android app stays in landscape mode for one second and then swings back to portrait mode, even if the cell phone is horizontal.
Although I get that you appear to be on somewhat ‘for the people’ crusade after a similar campaign on Flightradar24 in previous years.
Surely including a bit more detail like OS, Screen size and so on would actually be found beneficial by the developers if you want your reported issues/requests to be investigated/actioned if they actually take note at all?
I can’t speak for others. But rotation is not even an app feature on my android13, 2400 x 1080, 6.4" device running 5.8.0
So a split second thing is less likely experienced across the board.
