I have already decided to move my Pi to the telescope shed at the base
of the antenna pole, weather permitting. I have a new lead ready to go, rg223 and it will be
about a third of the length of my existing lead. With the Pi relocated to my
shed and a wired wifi connection I hope to get better reception.
However with the relentless high winds we are getting at the moment, my antenna
is taking a fair bashing.
I had intended to fit a mast head preamp but think that would be a
bad decision at the moment.
I have seen various lna’s on the market and wondered if anyone has used something similar at the receiver end of the feed with any success as I appreciate that in this position the lna will amplify anything picked up on the coax.
Any comments or experiences appreciated.
