Airspy with tar1090 issues

I have upgraded my Ubuntu x86 and now I can’t seem to get my system working.
Airspy is working.
But tar1090 is not functioning anymore. If try to update I get this:

You need to have a decoder installed first, readsb is recommended:

FATAL: could not find aircraft.json in any of the usual places!
checked these: /run/readsb /run/dump1090-fa /run/dump1090 /run/dump1090-mutability /run/adsbexchange-feed /run/skyaware978

Anyone has ideeas?

Install readsb or dump1090-fa, then rerun the airspy install script.
If you used dump1090-fa, reinstall tar1090.

I have reinstalled those but still same.
I just used your script from that link. Still not connecting to airspy.

Maybe I am missing something…

PS: I am using x86 Ubuntu.

The link for the readsb install also has instructions on how to show the journalctl log.
I’d want to see the journalctl log for readsb and airspy_adsb services to give further info.

sudo journalctl --no-pager -u readsb -n 200 | nc termbin.com 9999
sudo journalctl --no-pager -u airspy_adsb -n 200 | nc termbin.com 9999

Thank you!

I ended up reinstalling Ubuntu, I want to upgrade to 23 anyway.
TCL still has to be held back… that’s a shame.

You always kill crush my curiosity with those reinstalls

Well glad it’s working now.

I am one step ahead of you. I ended up upgrading to Ubuntu 24 SID (Noble Numbat)

Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat (Desktop & Server): Install piaware, dump1090-fa, dump978-fa, and piaware-web

Dang it!

However, I had trouble anyway getting FR24 back to work…

I guess I missed the “wait part”, I was impatient. Now is all good, thanks!
