Is there a way to setup alerts based on what my local installation of PiAware is seeing? I do have a few alerts setup based on flight plans but would like to be able to track a tail number and have an alert sent as soon at it is being tracked by my PiAware. Is this possible? On occasion I do get alerts that an aircraft has been seen “nearby” but would like to be able to customize that.
That is not possible in Skyview currently. We will consider it in a future update. It sounds like you’re already doing but you should make sure you have position-only flights enabled in your flightaware.com account and create alerts there.
