ADDS testbed weather

There is a wealth of information on the ADDS testbed website that you may like for flight planning purposes.

wwwt.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/mmb/SREF_ … z_prb2.htm is a good example.

Then click on animate above the graphic. I love the flight restriction probability forecast, from LIFR to VFR and when you animate it, it shows the trends whether it be expanding area of LIFR or a frontal passage moving across.

That is interesting and helpful.

kudos to ADDS. I always use them to read the wx for myself before varifying the findings with a wx brief. It’s a good lazy pilot’s tool, a lot nicer than undecoded and text briefings.
