If I’m following correctly, the 49" antenna uses a different connector than the smaller one (one is male, the other female), right? I can’t tell from the photos, but I’m surmising this from the frequently bought together items, since I don’t know well how to read the codes.
Thanks. I have the smaller one, so this answers my question on whether i have the hardware needed for the larger one. It was looking like I needed a female connector.
Thanks. I thought that was discontinued, but I notice that it does not come with the “Easy mounting to antenna mast that is 2cm to 5cm in diameter (not included)”
I already have the 1090MHz ADS-B Antenna - 66cm / 26in (amazon.com/gp/product/B01BK … UTF8&psc=1 ), I looks like my existing mount should work. I am putting in an order as well. Thanks for the Heads Up!
No, just a query from the original poster. They should probably update it.
Antenna height will get you the largest improvement. I moved mine up just 3 inches last week and doubled my >200NM position reports(50 to 100). I am very low, <100AMSL and am surrounded by Apartment blocks, ridges and trees.
I use this antenna for UAT978 in my attic. I will move it outside, eventually, I have a new antenna mast due any day.
I have a mast mound that will work for it, but I would like to find a link to one of the mounts… I am going to put it on top of a 10’ mast mounted to my Chimney. That will give me an addition 20’ and a pretty good clear view over most of the trees.
I have one on order now, too. I’ll be interested to see how it does compared to my other antennas. I now have my home made ground plane antenna with lamp shade a couple feet away from the small FA antenna. Each is picking up aircraft the other is not and have similar counts. I’d say I’d have to give a slight nod to the FA antenna, after 10 minutes of watching both maps side by side. The ground plane antenna in the attic was much better than the FA antenna about 12’ lower down inside the house.
