Your Job

Thought that if you got above a certian altitude that your eyes would like get blurry and stuff.

That’s called lack of oxygen…cure for that…fly lower…

Ok, but when your an Air Force pilot you can’t… Actially, I think you can’t be a USAF pilot if you have lasic.

I think they have loosened the vision restrictions A LITTLE, but when I was about to go to the Naval Academy, it was strict 20/20 for Navy & Air Force.

I still don’t think you can have glasses or contacts for either, but I might be wrong…

What class?

That’s only the case for the fast movers and USA tactical rotary drivers now Pik. USCG helo drivers also, but not fixed wing IIRC.

Retention has been so low of late, as well as the problems getting recruits to begin with, that all of the visual acuity limits have been redrawn for the non-tactical drivers. Lasic is still forbidden for high-G environments, but even that is being reviewed.

There’s a big draft in all the uniformed forces right now for women pilots, especially among the heavy movers and gas-passers. Any woman working on getting her multi time in jets and eventually her ATP should seriously consider talking to the USAF.

Knew you or dami would be there for me…

Always happy to oblige.

You forgot “professional movie watcher”. Just kidding. When I worked in retail @ Sears, there were about 5 guys that came in and bought portable DVD players. All said they were for work. I do know you guys do awesome work. I should know, I had to listen to the engines late at night for 8 years (from TU and 27th & Harvard).
