What is this dashed pink(?) flight line?

I see the green line (the actual flight path), but I’m not sure what the dashed pink(?) line means?

The white line would indicate an estimated position. The black dots are where we received oceanic reports from the FAA.

Thanks! So do you happen to know what accounts for the path mostly being green over the ocean on the flight the day before? See this second picture.

I guess I don’t know what reports are used to make the green lines either.

It would appear that we interpolated the green between the Oceanic messages instead of marking those as estimated. You can see this in the tracklog. In real time, they may have looked estimated, im not sure. Flight Track Log ✈ UAL384 13-Aug-2024 (KDEN-PHNL) - FlightAware
