This was a particularly heavy landing by a Lufthansa Boeing 747 at LAX causing the aircraft to go around for second attempt.

Wonder why he went around. Why not just continue the landing ?
He bounced on landing, the second time the nosewheel touched the tarmac first. This poses a significant risk of the landing gear collapsing upon next impact. Only right course of action is to go around and to setup the landing configuration again.

Yeah, I guess you can get into “porpoise oscillations” – bouncing several times which is difficult to control. Best to just go around.
