USAF C-17 Down in Alaska

There is not much information available at this point, but this does not look good. My deepest sympathy to the friends and family of the people on board.

Yeah very sad. This is big news here in Charleston, where the largest wing of the 17’s are based. I believe that’s the first crash for one too. Considering the amount of hours the AF is racking up on those things, it still has a remarkable record.

My friend fly the moose out of WRI, I remember him telling me they lost an airframe in the sandbox last year in a landing incident. No fatalities.
