units of speed and distance

On the Flight Aware Live Tracking report sheet, speed is reported in “knots” (and is presumably ground speed). Distance of the flight is reported in “miles”. Are these then nautical miles (to be consistent with speed in knots) or statute miles?

Most likely they are Nautical Miles, considering the fact that most of the ranges of aircraft are calculated by using nautical miles. :smiley:
