Squawk codes Suggestion

On the Piaware panel is it possible to make the squawk codes display what they mean when hovering our mouse over the code please, Thank you.

@detectorguy I would tend to agree that it would be ‘interesting’ to see this, however the practicalities of implementing it would be as interesting, since each country allocates squawk codes, as defined by their own schemes - e.g. parachute dropping in progress is 0033 in the UK, but 0025 in Germany!

Whilst there are six codes only as ‘global’ - 1000, 2000, 7000 (generic), 7500 (hijacking), 7600 (radio failure) and 7700 (general emergency) by the ICAO, the rest are country-specific schemes, so any form of display of the squawk ‘meaning’ would have to reference a geo-locational database for its data.

Furthermore, codes from certain ‘blocks’, such as the 1000 block in the USA can be used for specific purposes on a short-term basis, then reassigned. Other ‘oddballs’ like the 2000 block also exist, which can be used in Australia, the US and a number of other countries, all of which add significantly to the complexity of such a lookup system.

Thank you. I see it could be problematic.
