Hi everyone,
I would like to thank you for a great forum to help me understand the programming and install set-up of my ADS-B receiver on the RPi. I have to admit, I am not well versed in programming, but I was able to re-image a SD card to run the Mutability script.

Anyway, I am impressed with the data I am getting, but I am wondering how to get the maximum range line to plot on my dump1090 map.

Also, I have noticed some long distance flights show up. Is there a way to pull from the data log and find out what flight it was?

Thanks for all your help and please forgive me for my lack of understanding.

Hi m82g, welcome to the forum.

One of the experts will be along soon to explain how to get the maximum range and range rings onto your map. There are a couple of long posts which have a lot of out-of-date information before the best code was found. If you have a couple of spare hours try looking through these.

What is your setup?

[Edit] Just looked at your stats and you are out-performing everyone else in your area ! Good work.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have been looking at these posts but I find it so confusing.
I wish there was a sticky post that showed the typical configuration edits and the associated code.

My setup was purchased off amazon.

I lack the circuity knowledge, hence the prepackaged amazon purchase, but I love sharing data (personal weather station, CoCoRaS rain guage, and now the ADS-B)

I am shocked that I am getting great data from my setup that is right now at the inside apex of my attic. I hope to install this week with my wind anemometer.

Thanks again,
Matt (m82g)

Hi Matt,

Everyone wants something different from their setup so there is no typical configuration :unamused:

If you get the antenna on the roof, you’ll be picking up mid-atlantic flights :open_mouth:
