Raspberry Piaware Minus the Piaware

I currently have a Win XP laptop in the basement running Dump1090. I connect to it from another machine (by ip address) to run PlanePlotter and other utilities that make use of its output. Can I simply replicate that function on a RPi without having it report any data directly to FA? That is, I just want to run Dump1090 on it - full stop. No Piaware, etc.

I’m familair with the RPi per se but not an expert. I suspect it’s a subset of the standard (clear and well documented) instructions that exist.

You could run the standard PiAwre SD card image, then disable / remove the PiAware program (by simply deleting /etc/init.d/piaware).

But if you allowed the PiAware to program to run - you would get MLAT local info back from FA.
