Anyone hear of any communication issues with the tower at MEM? The Priest that is part of the wedding that I am in this weekend was delayed out of Memphis last night for about 3 hours and was told that there were problems communicating with the Memphis tower. Can’t find anything about it so far, but I’ll keep looking.
Just curious.
Edit: Here is what I have found out about the flight (looking up the flight as well)
flight diverted STL-Memphis leg to Little Rock due to Memphis Tower problems. After a 2 hour on tarmac wait they went back to Memphis and THEN on to TUL.
MESSAGE:
DUE TO A FREQUENCY OUTAGE AT MEM APPROACH, RADAR APPROACH OPERATIONS ARE BEING MOVED TO THE TOWER. THIS WILL RESULT IN ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DELAYS FOR THE NEXT 90 PLUS MINUTES, OR UNTIL THE FREQUENCIES ARE RESTORED.
Later in the evening there was a delay program due to weather…
