Yesterday Sat April 4th my plane, American Airlines
FLIGHT 1460 WHICH LEFT DALLAS FT WORTH AT 10;30 am
AND ARRIVED IN MINNEAPOLIS ST PL AT 1:00 PM
Flew directly over another plane. I am guessing in was a Southwest but only because it was royal blue on top. It was SHOCKING !! how close this plane and ours were. we asked the captain at the end of the flight and his only reply was " Don’t worry about it" and he was visible angry. I expected to hear about a close call in the air but there is nothing! How do I find out about this event? FYI, i love american and this wont change my flying with them. I am just so curious how this could happen.
Thank you all for any information you can give me. forgive me for putting it here, I couldn’t find any where that seemed appropriate.

Second, while you were shocked, aircraft routinely are separated vertically by at least a thousand feet and is not shocking. It looks close when you are unfamiliar with it and it occurs unexpectedly to you. Both aircraft were in their proper traffic lanes. Consider what a freeway interchange would look like if the roadways were transparent.

I am 100 percent sure we were not separated by 1000 feet.
