PiAware suddenly went offline!

Hello,

Our PiAware has been running fine until this afternoon and suddenly stopped working. When I logged into the Pi and saw the status, below is what I saw. Also, in the PiAware home page, I have 1090 Radio and MLAT both are in RED color. PiAware and FlightAware are in GREEN. Any idea what is going on? I did try to restart Piaware via “sudo systemctl restart piaware” and I still have the same problem.

Thanks in advance,
Satish

pi@piaware:~ $ sudo piaware-status

PiAware ADS-B client (faup1090) is not running.

Afternoon,

First of all you should edit the post and remove your feeder ID.

This is your problem.

You can restart dump1090 or better restart the Pi.

S.

Your site has been deteriorating badly over the past month.

Your number of aircraft, positions and your range have all halved since the start of november.
Have you made any changes that would explain this drop?

Start by changing your USB power supply.

Thank you. As I indicated in the post, I already restarted the Pi to no avail. But, I did notice that my antenna moved away from where I originally kept it. Unfortunately, I don’t have a good fixture to keep it steady somewhere. I need to find one that suits my antenna (FlightAware 1090 MHz Antenna | ADS-B Flight Tracking). For now, I moved the antenna back to where it was and restarted the Pi. Everything works now! Thanks again for your quick response.

“Rebooting” and “Restarting” are not the same thing.
A full power-cycle may solve a problem that rebooting won’t.

It looks like your site is back to pre-november numbers.

@geckoVN

Agreed. I should have done a full power-cycle to begin with yesterday. Anyways, it’s all good now. Thanks.
