PiAware Debian 7.2 Upgrade to 8.2 - HELP

On my stats page there is an advice to update my PiAware Debian add on packaage 7.2 to 8.2.
However, using the cog to update as the upgrade notes advise does not work because of the following mesage: - Sending commands to your device is not available because the feature is disabled locally on your device.
I have looked through the FAQ’s and I see some say they have auto updates set on, some say the software will update itself, how do I enable updates locally etc.
I am left wondering, what is the best way to update the PiAware, without breaking the system?

Sounds like your system is configured to not allow manual updates (i.e. using the cog wheel). That is the default for package installs. Log in to your device and change the default:

sudo piaware-config allow-manual-updates yes

Thank you fvery much or your assistance.
