When checking sites this morning, I detected a problem with the 1090 output from my receivers. I’m located on a small country airport and feed 978 &1090.
After fumbling around for a while, I managed to determine that the RPi4 I put into service a few months ago was not behaving itself.
I tried to Putty in, and it wasn’t having any of that. Hard reboot didn’t help either.
So I swapped out a RPI Zero 2 W in it’s place, moved the SD card, and with the exception of the Zero choking on the high data flow, all seems well.
I tried to find information on testing the RPi4, but nothing made sense to me, as usual. (I’m not very good with RPi’s or their language…in spite of everyones help)
Can anyone give me input on testing this RPi, or am I better off just replacing it?
Create a new image on a SD card for it, you can use the raspberry pi imager and hook it up to a monitor(mini HDMI to HDMI cable needed) and mouse and keyboard via the USB ports. Then boot the system. You can watch the boot progress via the monitor. If there’s something wrong you can see that on the screen and that might give an indication where the issue is.
God bless you Sir, for having enough confidence in me to attempt those diagnositics!!
I could probably follow your directions if I had the stuff you mentioned, but I don’t.
Thanks,
Jay
I was awake at 4am today, and had a momentary power drop. I’ll give the power supply a test and swap it out with a spare I just happen to have.
Thanks,
Jay
