About a week ago I got two pro stick dongles and so far they are far worse than my old dongles, so I need some expert help…
The problem is that my apartment don´t have grounded electricity in the walls and my antenna is shorted (grounded) so i have fried 3-4 computers before someone told me I need a ground loop isolator. Since I bought the isolator 1,5 years ago no computer has died so I am very sure it is correct.
With the old dongles there was no difference in noise with or without the ground loop isolator but with the pro stick the noise rise 20db with the isolator attached and not many signals seen, no difference how long the coax is.
Anyone know how I can fix this problem or is the only option to go back to the old dongle?
Do you have a filter? My setup completely dies (150 down to 2 aircraft seen) without one.
Have you tried to optiomise the gain setting. Again, for me, I had to reduce it on the FA Dongle to 38.

I don´t think I need a filter because when I use a old laptop without the isolator it works pretty well with the pro stick but as soon I attach the isolator I get mostly noise.
When I checked the noise in SDRSharp with the new and the old dongle the difference is enormous and then when I turn down the gain to same noise level as in the old dongle the signals is gone too in the pro stick…
I have reverted back to the old dongle now and everything works perfect as it did before, I have learned the expensive way what my friends say, don´t fix it if it ain´t broken.
