Hi folks,
why are there sometimes letters behind the flight numbers, e.g. BAW6B on 20100507 ?
I think at the airport they don’t appear on the departure/arrival boards, do they?
Thanx in advance,

Usually, when you see an “A” or “B” behind a flight number, it is indicative of a revised or refiled flight plan. Typically, these are flights that have been delayed, rerouted, or modified from the original flight plan in some way.
You will also see the letter “P” used behind NetJets aircraft, ie. EJA901P, because the aircraft has a “pink” or temporary registration. They are not allowed to be routed outside the continental U.S. or along the offshore routes.
