Can a King Air 200 fly with only one engine?
THANKS
Yes, but only if the other one is in full reverse.
JK- Yes but you wouldn’t want to try and take off on only one
Yes, all the way to the scene of the crash. They’ll even beat the paramedics there by an easy 15 minutes.
Channeling “Tater” tonight are we Mark?
“Yes but you wouldn’t want to try and take off on only one”. Really?
Scenario…you’re dumping food crates out of a beech 200 after landing in a grass airfield in the middle of a tribal colony somewhere in the amazon, (you decided to go into the peace corps for whatever reason) and the warring tribe decides to come over and fight the tribe you just delivered grubb to…stay with me here…complete with spears rocks and machete’s, you jump in, crank up the engines and realize your port isnt starting.
A. make a run for it with one engine
B. shut down and hold your hands up
C. Dont join the peace corps
I couldnt resist
Edit: pack a condom
I don’t think you can take off with one engine, unless you’re in the salt flats, then maybe. A KA will fly with one engine no problem. Ya know who owns a F-90? Tom Cruise!
I was hoping someone would get it.
Yes, you can fly on one engine. That’s a big reason why they have two.
A King Air 200 will fly on 1 engine, but it won’t fly on 3.

Well I guess if you can overcome the P-factor and slipstream… I’d imagine dieing in a large ball of fire would be better then being roasted over an open pit and served as the main course!?!
Actually, the Swiss figured out a way to make a KA200 take off on one engine.

A King Air 200 will fly on 1 engine, but it won’t fly on 3.
very true, but the similar sized Tri Islander would fly on 3, but flying on 1, especially number 3 might be 1 thing I wouldn’t want 2 try.
Maybe I should’ve asked," If a King Air 200 is flying, one engine goes out,
can it safely land on one engine"?
(TRYING TO SETTLE AN ARGUMENT)

Definitely. Otherwise, they’d only have one (bigger) engine to begin with. What’s the point of having 2 engines if you need both of them all of the time to sustain flight? If it wasn’t safe with only 1 engine, more people would be flying PC-12’s instead of King Airs - at least in my opinion anyway.
EDIT - and technically, if both engines go out, it’s possible to “safely” land a king air as well. (Capt. Sullenberger “safely” landed in the Hudson with both engines out.)
Yes it can. Even the 90’s can fly on one.

Yes. The Kingair 200 will fly quite well on one engine after an inflight failure. Even a failure during takeoff is manageable if the pilot is competent and the weight and density altitude aren’t too high. It’s a very rugged and capable airplane.
thats because…ITS A BEECH!!!

I loves me some Beechs…
They’re gonna lock down this thread before its over with.,…
Thanks!! I won the argument!
