Nothing so nefarious.
Just no traffic, it was the night from Saturday to Sunday, nightly airfreight doesn’t run that night usually.
USB problems started after the RC’s
As promised my graphs for the last 24 hours.
The gain was set to manual 19 between 18:30 and 07:30
Hope it helps
Doesn’t mean there is causality.
Didn’t you report it hanging at 100% CPU at some point before or just not doing anythign and you had to restart?
If you see it more … maybe i can make something to debug the issue more precisely, will see.
Just to rule out that it’s in airspy_adsb and not in the airpsy library.
thanks. will see if I can get it running without the heywhatsthat ID. (too far North, so HeyWhatsthat tells me to go away and jump into a fjord)
Yeah that shouldn’t be required, pretty sure @bive is in the same boat … or latitude.
I will lower -C 90 to -C 80 .
I’ll take a look later when I’m back at home. Got a few things to look at with scripts etc.
I’ve tried, no luck, unless you want to pay for them mapping it. Had a conversation with them some years ago and they are not going to cover anything above 60N (besides Alaska). That’s the price we pay for living in the more northern parts of Scandinavia (and lousy internet connections).
Looks good over the entire day.
I am hitting a limit here. Not sure from what but tar1090 / dump1090 interface is saying messages: 4500.0/sec. It goes up down up down but never really above.
Before you ask how I am running Preamble 60, Odroid-N2+ Overclocked (Its not even using 100% CPU atm). Only installed it recently so there is no historic data on this device. The huge dip was me changing the mlat_freq to 20 to see how that would affect things. (It was not very good.)
It’s quite normal to have a lower message rate in the graphs if you produce lots of messages that readsb won’t associate with any known aircraft.
Usually this isn’t good
Traffic picking up a little. Compared to nearby sites with similar stats on FA, I’m currently about 10% ahead of them today. Can of course be traffic pattern etc. but for the last week I’ve been around 5-8% higher than them per day. Not the most reliable way of measuring performance but still…
We should revisit the scatter graph to see how v2.2 compares with the rest again.
I didn’t even think that was possible from an Airspy.
Thought the same. Wasn’t there a discussion earlier where it was identified that regular sticks (e.g. the blue FA) can reach up to 1500 max and the Airspy 3000 max?
Or maybe i am getting old…
I’ll make some comparisons once I’ve accumulated some more data. Being able to pull gain and preamble settings from collected should enable some new analysis along with the higher fidelity signal and noise data.
Thanks @prog
I think i am in a glad position without a large amount of interferences or obstacles.
The Airspy is really good-natured in optimal environments, even if you’re not using the “best” settings.
prog and wiedehopf, with all this data being fed back to you, is it possible to formulate what you think is the settings that are most likely to give the best chance of having the best results when utilising the airspy with these modifications you have been working so hard on. I know you probably won’t agree on everything but there must be a point where a team can say, yep I am happy with that.
As this heavily depends on your individual environment there are no “best settings” for “best results” as a general statement.
that’s what you have to do after trying&error the different settings.
The process takes time. In an ideal world you change a setting and monitor it for a week. Then another setting and so on. Then you might get close to the ideal ones.
