We have a service that relies on obtaining the latest flight departure information—specifically the actual_out, actual_off, estimated_out or estimated_off times—within one to two hours after the scheduled departure time, like scheduled_out or estimated_out.
I would like to ask:
- How frequently is the get /flights/{ident} API updated with new data?
- If a flight has already departed and your data sources have the updated actual departure time, how quickly does this information become available via the Aero API?
Currently, our system queries the API approximately every five minutes.
I’ve searched the discussion forum for similar topics, but most posts on this subject are from 6–8 years ago and use the older version of the APIs.
I haven’t found recent discussions or any notes about update frequency in the current API documentation or FAQ.
Is there any documented time frame or guarantee regarding how soon updated departure data is reflected in the API response?
