Querying MapFlightEx with the “enroute” flight GEC8400-1516098063-9-0-78 it gives me the following print:

Why the flight is enroute but progress_percent is -1, adhoc is true, and the destination unknown?

Bug in your system? I’m worried about the accuracy of the data…

Other systems like flightradar24 are saying that flight is indeed enroute, and it shows correctly on map

Checking other post: FlightInfoStatus - UAE9852 - questions on response data - #6 by cbw I guess I do know how to act in these cases.

This particular case should be interpreted as the fist point listed below:
"

  • adhoc==true while en route means that we have not received a destination and an eta.

  • adhoc==true after the flight has landed would mean that we did not receive receive or interpret an arrival airport.

  • adhoc==true while en route then adhoc==false after arrival (for the same flightid) means we interpreted the origin and destination. We would now have origin, destination, and eta to satisfy the conditions for the flight to not be adhoc.

I am wondering if is likely or not to the current adhoc flight be updated with correct info during the flight, regarding destination and eta infos that were missing. or if it is more likely to get updated info for the flight after flight lands.

Can you help me in what cases is more likely to get updated info from the flight during/after the flight lands?

Im going to guess you took the screenshot of the flight page while logged out of your account or you would have seen the flight currently enroute, or you enabled position-only flights after taking the screenshot of the flight page. Progress percent will not be known if we do not know destination. The data is accurate, but we did not receive a schedule or flight plan for this flight.

The eta will not be updated during the flight for this flight due to us likely not receiving destination during the flight. For position-only (adhoc) flights, origin and destination airport are only populated if we are able to infer the airport based on proximity of last reported position, otherwise you would see origin and destination as near (nearest city name).

Regarding this sentence, I still dont know for sure if you can receive that updated info during the flight, or only after its time to be landed.

It is possible to receive during flight, however, it is unlikely that the information is received after departure.

I did not understand your response. If a flight departs, then after departure is saying that or the flight is in the sky, or it has already landed.
So, if it is possible to receive that updated info during the flight (flight is actual flying), why however is unlikely to receive updated info after departure?
My english is not the best, but I see that sentence confusing. It is just me?

Im saying we can receive a message that gives us the information we are looking for, however, it is rare. We receive data from many different sources and those sources can send data at any given time, however, if we have not received the origin, destination, eta, etd, etc, prior to departure, it is highly unlikely to come in after departure.
