I’d like to see adjustable notification settings for things like my ADS-B receiver going offline or not sending data. The default is 6 hours, and I’d like an option for 2 or 3 hours.
Right now, notifications can be sent by email or by push notification. Unfortunately, my phone offloads apps and one it frequently chooses to offload is FlightAware – this makes sense, since I use the website far more than the app. So I tend not to get those until I’m tracking a flight and reload the app. Email notifications don’t go out until the device has been offline for 6 hours.
So when my receiver went offline at 6:10PM, I didn’t get a notification until 12:10AM, when I’d been asleep for a couple of hours already. If I’d had notifications set to 2 hours or 3 hours, there’s a good chance I’d have seen the email and put my receiver back online.
