Is it still necessary to expand the filesystem after having re-imaged my SD card with PiAware 7?
Does not seem to be necessary. When I installed 7.1 on a test setup, the first boot message flashed on the screen about expanding the file system and then rebooted in a few seconds. Upon reboot, configuration started and at the end, the full size of the SD card was available. Nice job by the FlightAware Software folks.
The piaware sdcard images do the same at the upstream raspbian images and auto-expand the filesystem on first boot.
