En route route changes?

I know that when an aircraft is airborne the flight path (dashed line) can be revised by the center controller and it is reflected on FlightAware. The only problem is that there is no way to view the revised route unless you study it with the aviation sectional chart. Can there be an easier way to view these revisions?

We may get route updates but we also get a lot of intercenter route updates that just trim off the part of the route that has already been flown so we reject most of them.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the quick reply.

Maybe there is a way to compare the revised route to the filed route and see if any waypoints are new to that particular flight. I don’t know, it was worth a shot

That would be difficult at best when a clearance is given as a “direct to” X further downline. Especially when the point cleared to is 1000+ miles away from the deviation point of the planned route.
