Dump1090 stops sending data

I have an RPi 3+ with a Noob Elec stick that has been working for years. In the last weeks the dump1090 service stops sending data. Rebooting the RPi does not fix it. I have to power down and back up and then it will start again.

PiAware Version: 7.2
Dump1090-fa Version: dump1090-fa 7.2~bpo9+1
Dump978-fa Version: dump978-fa 7.2~bpo9+1

I’m suspecting the USB stick might have gone bad, but would like to know if there is a way to troubleshoot it before I go out to buy a new one.

with that little details it’s hard to say.
Did you try a different USB port?

What’s the output of
sudo systemctl status dump1090-fa
and
sudo journalctl -xe|grep dump1090-fa

These commands should be executed while dump1090 is not sending data.

it has now been stable for a few days in a row. I’m keeping this open just in case for a bit longer. The only change is that I had the dongle on one of the upper USB ports of the RPi and I moved it to the lower ports where there was no mechanical force pushing the dongle down, and possibly interrupting contact with the RPi.

Will keep you posted.
