Any reason to not make my own custom length cables? 50ohm co-ax, SMA one end, N-type at the other. Do crimpers and suitable connectors exist for both ends?
Hoping to mount a Pi (3B) externally in a waterproof box, nearer to the antenna, hence the custom cable, and power it using PoE, so a single cable to make it easier.

Unless you have the tools and are confident you can correctly make the cable yourself, it might be better to have the cable made by a cable vendor.

I have no idea what their prices are now, but I used to have lots of coax cables made by them in a previous life.
No problem in making the joints myself. Done hundreds in a previous life, albeit mainly Triax and the like, nothing as small as SMA though. Just wondering about the availability of crimpers and parts.
Actually, if you just need a cable with sma on one end and N on the other end, you can buy that at Amazon.
