Cirrus demo flight lands on Hwy 61

Here’s a flight for all the aviation enthusiasts who are also Bob Dylan fans. A Cirrus SR22 (N712SR) made a landing on MN Highway 61 yesterday during a demo flight after developing an oil leak.

Looks like the N number is blocked from tracking.

Chute. I mean shoot. Glad it worked out.

Less than 200 hours on this G3.
So much for the acceptance flight!!

All that oil makes me think something like a rod went though the case.

I may have overlooked it in the news reports, but does anyone know exactly what part of 61 they landed at? We vacation North of DLH near Two Harbors every year and I’m guessing it was somewhere in that corridor. Some of those stretches of road are pretty narrow with trees on either side, looks like he did a good job of putting it down, and this pilots and airframe saved.

Somewhere near Lakewood Road and 61.
I believe the reporter said between Lakewood Road and Camp Road in the North bound lanes of highway 61, but I couldn’t find a Camp Rd.?

Oh, ok, that makes more sense, it must have been on the 4 lane portion…
Thanks Rob!
