Change airport information?

Hello, is there a way to correct wrong information about an airport?

I’ve seen a few where the airport name and the name of the city have been mixed up, like LPPR or LPFR in Portugal.

The question is not perfect for an exact answer.

The name of the city is used by the carriers and travel agencies solely for the convenince of the passengers. Because, it is assumed, the passengers must know the nearest city for the travel, but the passenger has no duty to know the name of each airport.
The air trafic of civil aircrafts is the performce between 2 airports always for the contracting parties of the air transportation.

The authority of the country, an operator of the airports, applies for the registration to ICAO / IATA . These 2 internatinal orginizations decide the applications and assign the code for the country’s airport. Or they refuse to process with the registration of the airport and give the a reason of their refusal to the applicant (fee was not paid, Potugal is not in Westren hemosphere, right to submitt the application is absent, etc).

Thanks for your answer but I just meant the information here on flightaware.com is mixed up, not the real official names of the airports used in aviation worldwide.
