Blue Water Emergency.

Incident: KLM MD11 near Shetland Islands on Oct 28th 2009

A KLM McDonnell Douglas MD-11, registration PH-KCD performing flight KL-605 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to San Francisco,CA (USA), was enroute just south of the main Shetland Island,SC (UK) about one hour into the flight, when the crew descended the aeroplane, entered a holding for about 50 minutes and subsequently decided to return to Amsterdam, where the aircraft landed safely 3 hours after departure.

A replacement MD-11 registration PH-KCA reached San Francisco with a delay of 6 hours.

A source within KLM told The Aviation Herald, that the airplane had run out of water causing lavatories to fail.

Is it that hard to find water?

Someone probably just forgot to fill it.

When I saw the thread title I thought the incident happended over open ocean, not that they ran out of lav water!

Me to, at first. I thought he was relating to the AH-1 and C-130 that crashed…

and in amsterdam when over 30% of the country is below sea level. yet another reason i always carry a diaper with me when i fly. im not man enough yet to actually wear one, but i have one with me.

Waaayyy to much information.
