Air NZ NZ8

Does Air Nz flight NZ8 from Auckland to San Francisco cross the International date twice in a single flight?

It crosses the IDL once 3 hours after departure and back into the other side near the equator around kirbati islands (caroline atoll) as the IDL deviates to 150 degrees near the equator?

Can anyone shed more light on this?

The IDL was realigned in 1994 so it is conceivable that a flight from Australia/New Zealand to the USA would cross it more than once.

See phys.uu.nl/~vgent/idl/idl.htm for a history of the IDL.
